History

In 1996 a group of dedicated individuals, under the leadership of Mrs Celia Lourens, shared the dream of establishing a school with small classes, run according to the highest educational standards at the southernmost tip of Africa. The school was named after the Zoetendal, a ship which was stranded on our shores in 1673. Zoetendal Academy proudly opened its doors in January 1997.
